Volvo`s thin portable navigation device has a 4.3 inch multi-touch screen, Volvo unique cradle and software. The device is supplied with attractive functions such as Voice control , EcoRoute, `Junction View`, 3D landmarks², certain speed cameras, and can be supplemented with TMC.
Volvo uniquely designed cradle is located to facilitate handling, does not obstruct the view and meets Volvo`s stringent safety requirements. The navigation device does not have any visible wiring, can be transferred between different cars and has software with volvo car icons and volvo dealerships highlighted on the map.
Volvo`s portable navigation device 3790 comes preprogrammed with road maps for either Europe, USA/Canada/Mexico or Russia. Navigation device 3760 is supplied without preloaded maps.
Automatic route calculation , via voice control you receive driving instructions and spoken street names. Displayed 2D or 3D map perspective.
3D view Certain markets of landmarks, see selected 3D landmarks and landmarks on the map that are more recognizable to reality.
Voice recognition means that the driver can set the navigator quickly and easily without having to touch the screen. The following languages are supported: Danish, English, French, Dutch, Italian, German, Russian, Spanish and Swedish.
Multi-touch touch screen gives the user the possibility to make quick adjustments in the map, such as zooming in and out by `pinching` the display, switching between 2D and 3D perspectives or rotate the map by turning the device.
TMC (Traffic Message Channel). When the navigator is supplemented with TMC, traffic information can be received. You receive suggestions on alternative routes to avoid roadworks, accidents or other traffic disturbances.
Points of Interest (POI), can consist of everything from speed cameras to campsites and you can also add your own personal POIs. This type of information can easily be transferred to the device via POI Loader software.
Image navigation, with image navigation it is possible to download images from Google Panoramio and save them as Points of Interest, for quick and easy image navigation.
Lane assistance with `junction view` guides you to the correct lane ahead of a turn or exit, and makes unknown junctions and exits easy to navigate. In certain places realistic road signs and junctions are shown along your route together with arrows that indicate the correct lane for easy navigation.
EcoRoute is a `green` function that helps you choose the most fuel efficient route and optimise your driving style to minimise fuel consumption. When selecting EcoRoute the most fuel efficient route is calculated based on speed limits and acceleration data for the given route.
`Where am I?`. With a simple push on the screen the driver is given the exact current position by latitude and longitude. At the same time the nearby addresses and road junctions, the nearest hospital, police stations and petrol stations are displayed. The navigation device remembers where you parked, it automatically saves your position when you remove it from its cradle. In this way you can navigate on foot and use the device to find your way back to your car. Ideal in unfamiliar areas or places such as amusement parks, arenas and shopping centres.
Navigation system 3790 offers 60 days of free map data updates after you have activated and registered your new Volvo portable navigation device at http://my.garmin.com. Activation occurs the first time the device is switched on, has found satellites and travels at least 15km/h for 30 min. Any update will then be available at http://my.garmin.com for 60 days.
